Okay, this piece was going to be one of six illustrations for a children's book illustration competition; however, I've trashed this idea and decided to go in a different direction.

But I still have this one finished illustration and I don't want it to be a complete waste, so I'm showing it to you. And I'd still like to know what you think. The theme for the competition this year is 'Beyond the Mirror', so my initial concept was just to have a celebratory dreamlike piece that is fun and busy like a parade.

But I've changed my concept now to create something more mysterious and imaginative than this, with a little more of a restricted color scheme and a little more attention paid to the composition. Hopefully I'll have my new entry to show you within the next month or two and hopefully, it will be better.

Anyway, this was done mostly in Painter IX, with minor adjustments in Photohsop.
