The Winter's Tale Painter March 2007

This is simply the results of an idea I had inspired by Shakespeare's, The Winter's Tale.
It started as a doodle in my sketchbook, and developed in to this. It doesn't really illustrate any particular moment in the play, it kinda has various elements from it - but mostly it's just my interpretation. Those who are familiar with the play will find this piece to best illustrate the first half of the story. I'm thinking about maybe doing another to go with it that will represent the later, happier half of the play.
I left the book blank to kinda say that the 'tale' is being written presently, but maybe it just looks like laziness on my part. I may add something, not text, but something later.
As for the technical aspect -
done in Painter IX, direct painting, and no reference (not something I'm particularly proud of, but I didn't have any children or pregnant women around to pose for me)
